fellow vintage bike collector, Izzy, up in Lincolnwood.  I bought a striking yellow and black Raleigh Record from his collection, which is going to be madeover into a single-speed for Walker.   The Raleigh acquisition is a first for two reasons: one, it’s the first Raleigh I’ve worked on.  Two, it’s made from 2030 tubing,  an alloyed carbon I haven’t seen before.  From what I gather, 2030 is a nickel steel, and probably falls somewhere between 1020 and 4130 in terms of strength/weight.
